At first glimpse, the PlayStation TV looks like any other modern set top box found on supermarket shelves. Its small and sleek and comes with a hefty price tag at £89 however Sony say their little TV boxhas a fair few tricks up its sleeve. Set to make the most of the PlayStation 4's Remote Play feature which allows you to play your favorite PS4 titles in another room wirelessly albeit in 720p.
You also get access to the PlayStation Store as well as playing PSOne and PS2 classics locally using a similar layout seen in the PS Vita however a fairly large memory card is required due to the lack of onboard memory within the system (1GB just doesnt cut it).
You can however play your Vita games through this slender piece of kit using your PS4's Dualshock 4 controller as well as the last generation variant and it runs silky smooth thanks to its ARM Cortex A9 quadcore processor and powerful GPU.
Right now, PlayStation TV is looking like it could potentially be a lifesaver for some as they dont alwas have access to their PS4's within their household due to it being, for example, on the main TV. It looks like it opens up opportunities to play more games across different platforms creating more accessible game titles. So is it worth forking out for? It certainly looks like it has its uses and may well have a fair few drawbacks but personally i look forward to getting my hands on one of these fancy boxes and putting it through its paces so for now ill give it a ten out of ten for potential.
