Mad Catz Interactive, Inc announced today the shipping of the F.R.E.Q. Stereo Gaming Headset for PC and Mac.

Part of the Company’s Tournament Edition range of high performance gaming products, the F.R.E.Q. has been designed in conjunction with e-sports athletes to deliver a competitive edge when gaming at a professional level.

A custom uni-directional Boom Mic is included, ensuring the voice of the player is conveyed with accuracy and without disruptive background noise typical of a LAN environment. Precision 50mm speakers sit inside newly designed padded ear cups, featuring memory foam to boost passive noise cancellation so that only the game audio and team mates can be heard during play.

Featuring simple plug-and-play connectivity, the F.R.E.Q. uses universal 3.5mm connections to quickly connect to the sound card on either the tournament rig or the gamers’ home machine. No drivers or software are required resulting in minimal fuss. On ear controls have been positioned for speed and easy access, allowing gamers to adjust game and chat volume with speed. Tough enough to survive extended gaming sessions, the F.R.E.Q. provides the serious gamer with the audio clarity they need to stay ahead of the competition.

Darren Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. stated, “Our Tournament Edition range appeals to the passionate gamer who plays at a professional level. By focusing on quality and only the features needed to win at a competitive level, we believe the F.R.E.Q. will prove a common fixture at LAN tournaments and allow us to grow our share in the rapidly growing e-sports arena."

The F.R.E.Q. Stereo Gaming Headset is available in matte black, gloss black, gloss white and gloss red colors.

Mad Catz Interactive, Inc announced today the shipping of the G.L.I.D.E. Gaming Surface.

Part of the Company’s Tournament Edition range of high performance gaming products, the G.L.I.D.E. has been designed in conjunction with e-sports athletes to deliver a competitive edge when gaming at a professional level.

The highest performance Gaming Surface ever created by Mad Catz, the G.L.I.D.E. provides significantly improved tracking performance than the previous best performing Mad Catz Gaming Surface, and is equally efficient with both laser and traditional optical sensors.

Larger than many leading gaming surfaces to accommodate FPS gamers, the G.L.I.D.E. provides a substantial playing area, ideal for those who favor broad in-game movement. The G.L.I.D.E. utilizes a new production method with the contact surface bonded directly to the silicone base. This meticulous method of construction creates an edgeless surface and an end to frayed edges, a common issue with gaming surfaces.

Darren Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. stated, “The gaming surface chosen by the gamer can be the difference between winning and losing, and we have designed the G.L.I.D.E. to cater directly to the needs of the competitive gaming community. The G.L.I.D.E. joins the recently announced F.R.E.Q. to provide an entire suite of gaming products aimed at the rapidly expanding e-sports community and we look forward to the range making a significant contribution to sales in 2015.”

Designed for easy transport to LAN events, the G.L.I.D.E. is water resistant, allowing gamers to safely clean the Gaming Surface and be back to optimal performance within minutes. Immune from curl, gamers can roll up their Gaming Surface when travelling, laying it out completely flat when it’s ready to compete.
